The wait is almost over! The F1 2025 season gets underway next week, the 75th anniversary of the FIA Formula One World Championship. With a blockbuster calendar boasting 24 races on five continents, the new season will be all about high-octane action, heated rivalries, and stunning moments.

THE SEASON OPENER: AUSTRALIA AND CHINA DOUBLE-HEADER

The 2025 F1 season officially gets underway with the Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne’s Albert Park from March 14-16. This traditional circuit has always given us thrilling opening weekends to the season. This time also supporters can look forward to no different.

Teams will travel directly to China after the race in Australia for the Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai International Circuit between March 21-23. This weekend also features the opening F1 Sprint of the year on March 22, providing an early season shake-up of the championship standings.

NEW CALENDAR FLOW AND KEY CHANGES

Formula 1 streamlines the geography of race movements, lowering team burdens for lengthy traveling distances and promoting a greener schedule. An important tweak for 2025 is later timings for Bahrain (April 11-13) and Saudi Arabia (April 18-20), rescheduled owing to the fact that Ramadan takes place in March.

Some of the season’s major highlights include:

  • Japan (April 4-6) is coming back to the calendar at the start of it.
  • A European summer full of historic tracks, such as Silverstone (July 4-6), Spa-Francorchamps (July 25-27), and Monza (September 5-7).
  • The thrilling back-to-back Azerbaijan Grand Prix (September 19-21) and Singapore Grand Prix (October 3-5).
  • A dramatic season finale with a double-header in the Middle East with the Qatar Grand Prix (November 28-30) and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (December 5-7).

HOW MANY RACES ARE ON THE 2025 F1 CALENDAR?

Fans can look forward to a record 24 Grand Prix weekends, with six F1 Sprint events, from March to December. 21 nations will stage races, offering a vibrant blend of classic circuits and newer venues.

With the new regulations coming in, cars with state-of-the-art upgrade packages from the teams, and drivers hungry to leave their own mark, the 2025 F1 season is set to be one of the most competitive ever.
